The St. John Schola of San Francisco, CA sings this series, <b>A Traditional Chapel Sings Gregorian Chant</b>.
St. John Schola		Santo Domingo de Silos Abbey is a Benedictine monastery in the village of Santo Domingo de Silos in the southern part of Burgos Province in northern Spain.<BR> <BR> The cloisters of the monastery, which have large capitals with carved scenes, and also relief panels, are considered masterpieces of Romanesque architecture, and have been written about extensively, notably by Meyer Schapiro in his Romanesque Art (1977). There is also an important Romanesque free-standing enthroned Madonna and Child.
Santo Domingo de Silos		St. Michael's Abbey is a community of Norbertine Canons Regular in Orange County, CA. The community was raised to the status of an abbey in 1984 because of its growth. St. Michael's Abbey now numbers nearly 70 members.<BR> <BR> Members of St. Michael's Abbey live a life that combines monastic observance and a complete singing of the choral office and Mass every day with an active apostolate. The abbey's principal apostolate is its preparatory school, a boys' boarding school (9-12). The priests are also involved in parish work, retreats and writing and translation of spiritual books.
